Happy 2009!!

Sorry, I have been really slack about updating my blog. All of the sudden it was summer, I was back in school, it was Halloween, then a road trip to Aunt Lesley's for Thanksgiving, and then Santa came to give me lots of presents.

I am back in school after a holiday break and back in ballet. I love to be a princess ballerina every Monday, and I love going to school every morning, and seeing my friends.

I will try and go back and post about some of the highlights of the second half of 2008, but also try to keep this up-to-date, so everyone can see what I am up to.

It is just the start of the new year, and it is -18'F outside. I have not had school for 2 days, because everyone says it is too cold out and it has been cancelled. But, I don't understand, because I look outside, and it is sunny, and there is tons of snow, and I just want to go outside and play. It doesn't look like it would be too cold outside.

Last weekend, we got lots of snow. Daddy doesn't have a snowblower, so he goes out a lot to shovel more and more. And when the big snow plows finally do come down our street, they pile the snow right back up on our driveway. Daddy was not happy about this. Since last weekend was much warmer than now, I got to play a little in the snow, while daddy was shoveling. It was really deep!!

We spent New Years Eve at my best friend, Lily's house, just like last year. The adults stayed downstairs and ate and made homemade pizzas and were boring, while us kids hung out in Lily's room and dressed up in her princess clothes and jumped on the bed over and over again. we couldn't stop laughing. Parents would keep coming upstairs and telling us to stop we were going to hurt ourselves, but we kept telling them we would be careful..why did they not believe us?

After lots of jumping..all the mommies and daddies thought it would be a good idea to put us all on the couch to watch Tinkerbelle. It pretty much did the trick, and some of us even feel asleep.

After everyone else left, my family spent the night. I love sleeping over at Lily's house!! We put on our matching pajamas, and tried to tell our mommies we could sleep together in the same bed. They even lest us try..but after a little while mommy came in and said it wasn't working. Was is the jumping around that gave it away?

Mommy & daddy:

So, I stayed up with the big people and rang in the new year, while Lily went to sleep. I just can't fall asleep before midnight.

In the morning, Lily's daddy made us a yummy breakfast, and Lily and I had a picnic on the floor. We ended up staying there all day, just hanging out in our pajamas. We had a lot of fun, and I didn't want to leave.

Compare these pictures with last year's New Years festivities at Lily's and see how much we grown here.

Xmas 2008

Aunt Debbie came to stay with us again for xmas, and we were all so happy.  She arrived Dec. 23rd.  It was a bit touch and go for a while.  First Aunt Debbie didn't know if she could get a ticket because she just got laid-off, and then once she did, the weather was so bad, she ended up coming in, several hours later and to a different airport.

But eventually, mommy and me picked her up at O'Hare and went to Chicago for lunch at one of mommy's favorite places, Handlebar for some yummy fish tacos for mommy and smoked gouda mac 'n cheese for me.  But we could not stay downtown for long, because it was just too chilly.  So, we drove home, picked daddy up from work, and got in our pajamas.

The next day, mommy, Aunt Debbie and me made cookies for Santa.  We wanted to make sure he knew I was a good girl when he got to our house so I would get lots of presents.  We put out cookies and milk for Santa and carrots for the reindeer.

Even though it was freezing out, we drove to Santa's village to see him again before he set off for his night to give presents...but we got there and it was closed..I guess he wanted a head start in the cold weather.

Here are mommy and Aunt Debbie outside Santa's village:

I kept telling mommy I was going to come downstairs when I heard Santa so I could give him a big hug.  I kept waiting to hear the sleigh bells on the roof, this was the biggest night of my life. But, before I knew it, it was morning, and I slept through it all!!  But I went downstairs, and saw lots of presents, all for me!!  Well, most of them were!!

I got a come Playmobil stuff, Doctor Who Donna, Ariel, the mermaid, a Cinderella Barbie from Aunt Debbie, a Calico Critters playschool set, a wooden toolkit, and lots more!!

And Santa and his reindeer ate most of what I left, except for a few crumbs!! See, I knew they were here!!

Being silly with some of my toys:

Mommy spent most of the day cooking a huge feast.

And the next day we had friends over to celebrate Boxing Day.  Daddy's friends, Steve and Natalee brought me lots presents too, I just wish it would never end.

The day Aunt Debbie had to leave it warmed up so much, it was so foggy, so again her flight was cancelled.  We all got in the car to drive her to the airport in Milwaukee..only to get to the exit for the airport and have to turn around.  It was OK for me, I slept in the car!  She ended up going home later that night from Chicago.  I was very sad to see her leave, and hopes she comes back to visit soon.  I had a lot of fun with Aunt Debbie!!
